Billy Fuller Golf Design
MASTER PLAN DESIGN PROCESS
Once we have been hired, we embark on Phase One of the master plan design process.
PHASE ONE DESIGN MASTER PLAN
Step One: Owner furnishes the design team a color aerial photo (to scale) and topography map of the golf course property, including boundary lines and jurisdictional property areas per local, state and federal agencies.
Step Two: Design team creates a Base Map from Color Aerial and Topography Map.
Billy Fuller will play multiple rounds of golf with varying handicap members to best understand current course strategy impact on playability.
Round table discussions are held with members to understand their likes and dislikes on a hole-by-hole and feature-by-feature basis.
He reviews greens slopes, sizes and playability, as well as bunker strategy and shapes.
Billy then reviews golf course with golf course superintendent to fully understand agronomic strengths and weaknesses for all course features, including each turf area, drainage, irrigation, shade issues, water quality and quantity issues, cart paths, bridges, etc.
Step Four: Designer begins to formulate proposed hole-by-hole strategic plan to present to owners / membership.
The existing final hole at Wynlakes Country Club.
The proposed new strategy for Wynlakes #18.
Step Five: Develop Master Plan Hole-by-Hole Strategic Narrative
defining all recommended changes to the golf course.
