Vasari Country Club Earns ‘Rolling Out the Green Carpet™’ Certification
from National Women’s Golf Alliance
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., December 4 2014 – Vasari Country Club in Bonita Springs, Florida has earned a Four- Star Plus Rolling Out the Green Carpet™ certification from the National Women's Golf Alliance (NWGA).
The certification program assesses golf facilities on standards and best practices that make the facility welcoming and attractive to women. A trained NWGA evaluator and three other female golfers play an 18-hole round to evaluate the facility on five key areas of focus: Golf Course Playability, Customer Service, Golf Course Amenities, Facility Amenities and Golf Programs. Facilities that achieve a score of 80 percent or higher in at least three of these areas receive certification. Half stars are awarded for scores of 70 percent or higher. Two half-stars do not equal another star.
“We congratulate the Vasari Country Club on earning Four Stars Plus for Rolling Out the Green Carpet™ for women golfers,” said Debbie Waitkus, a founding partner of NWGA and president of Golf for Cause. “Excellent customer service and amenities, strong programming for women and good course playability – Vasari knows how to welcome women.”
Balancing natural beauty with challenging play, the 18-hole championship golf course at Vasari was designed by William Fuller, one of the nation’s renowned golf architects and former superintendent at Augusta National Golf Club, home of the Masters Tournament. Renovated in 2010, the course is in phenomenal shape throughout the year, including its stunning 40-acre practice facility and short game area.
“We take great pride in offering an excellent golf experience and especially value our women members,” says David Teets, General Manager, Vasari Country Club “The NWGA certification gives us impartial third-party validation that we are doing well and can always do a little better to ensure that every woman who comes to Vasari knows that we are Rolling Out the Green Carpet™.”
The National Women’s Golf Alliance unites three highly respected women’s golf organizations -- the EWGA, Golf for Cause, LLC and Jan Bel Jan Golf Course Design -- with the mission to increase the number of women playing golf and engagement levels of existing women golfers. Utilizing their combined years of expertise, data and observation regarding what women golfers want, need and expect for an enhanced playing experience, the NWGA has developed a base of standards and best practices to help golf facilities attract more women golfers and generate more revenue.
